The Estenda Healthcare Informatics Platform is the cornerstone of Estenda's value proposition. eHIP is a web-based architecture based on a proven combination of robust open source products and in-house developed services that can be used to quickly develop a solution that meets your needs. eHIP was designed to efficiently collect and present patient data for healthcare delivery as well as to facilitate research. Using eHIP, Estenda has successfully designed and built multiple healthcare solutions for government, academic, and private healthcare institutions.

eHIP is a complete healthcare delivery platform. It consists of several major components.
The Care Manager is the primary component of the platform and is designed for the healthcare professional to collect, view, and document the healthcare encounter. It consists of a number of tools that can be used in combination to provide effective patient care.
The Patient Portal is directly connected with the Care Manager and allows patients to view lab results, receive appointment reminders, and securely communicate with their providers.
The Survey Application allows patients and providers to take surveys. Patient surveys are integrated right into the Care Manager Snapshot view providing a comprehensive picture of patient clinical and behavioral information.
Most users of eHIP are involved in cutting edge clinical research. The built-in Study Manager allows a researcher to implement a study protocol, actively manage a clinical study including patient recruiting, to-do activities, data collection, and view study statistics.
eHIP has been designed to be integrated with your existing IT systems including EMRs, labs, pharmacies, scheduling, and more…
Document and Image Repositories are a key component of the platform allowing clinical users and patients to upload documents and images for storage and review.
Using the open source Eclipse Business Intelligence Reporting Tool (BIRT) created by Actuate, eHIP enables extensive patient and population-level reporting. An existing repository of reports can be enhanced by your report designer using the available Report Creation tool.
eHIP enables the development of a medical home model solution. Through a partnership with iMetrikus, patients can securely upload their biometric information (blood glucose, blood pressure, pulse, and weight) to the application for clinical review. Automated alerts notify care providers of the most pertinent information.

eHIP is a web-based architecture built using a combination of HTML and JavaScript to present the user interface and Java on the backend with Oracle as the database repository. eHIP uses a proven combination of open source products to bring solutions to market faster including Struts, Hibernate, and Prototype. Taking the platform to the next level, Estenda has developed several services that enable efficient data access and auditing information.
eHIP has been successfully deployed on multiple Java application servers including Apache Tomcat and Oracle BEA Weblogic. With little effort, it could be deployed to other application servers, such as JBoss or IBM Websphere because no proprietary extensions have been used.
